BMW Car Club GB Announces its First Ever 'Z-Fest'


On the occasion of its 60th anniversary, the official BMW Car Club GB will host its first ever "Z-Fest" gathering at this summer’s Silverstone Classic from July 20 to 22, promising to bring together hundreds of Z1, Z3, Z4 and Z8 sports cars, all of which will participate in a special parade lap on the full Silverstone Grand Prix circuit.

“We wanted to do something spectacular to mark our anniversary and staging the UK’s first Z-Fest at the world’s biggest classic racing festival certainly fits that bill,” said Steve Miller, general manager of the BMW Car Club (GB).

Video: New BMW Z4 sDrive28i's Turbocharged-Four Dyno-Tested


BMW's legendary normally-aspirated 3.0-liter straight-six is slowly giving its way to the firm's new generation 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four.

One of the first Bavarian models in the USA to receive the force-fed powerplant, codenamed N20, is the Z4 sDrive28i roadster, which Edmunds took the local dyno for testing.

BMW Treats China with New Z4 sDrive23i Limited Edition


The growing importance of China has led many carmakers to introduce a variety of dedicated special edition models created especially for the domestic market. In the recent past, the BMW Group has presented many such vehicles, including but not limited to, the M3 Matte and Tiger Editions.

The Bavarian firm's latest attempt to capture the attention of Chinese buyers with a special version is the Z4 sDrive23i Flame Edition.

Video: New BMW Z4 sDrive28i with 2.0-liter Turbocharged Four



Starting from this fall, the Z4 roadster will no longer be available in the States with BMW's venerable 3.0-liter normally aspirated straight-six. Instead, the Bavarian company will replace the sDrive30i with the sDrive28i that features the new N20 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with a twin-scroll turbocharger.

Just for the record, the Z4 sDrive35i and sDrive35is with 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six engines will continue.

The turbocharger system developed for the engine of the new BMW Z4 sDrive35is maintains a high output throughout the entire engine speed range. Nominal peak torque is increased to 332 lb-ft from 1,500 rpm to 4,500 rpm. Maximum output of 335 hp is delivered at 5,900 rpm
