Details on Ferrari Enzo replacement - report

More details have emerged on the upcoming Ferrari Enzo replacement.
According to a report by Inside Line, the Enzo successor will be built from a carbon-fiber monocoque and feature a mid-mounted V12 engine.
At the recent 458 Spider premiere, Ferrari CEO Amedeo Felisa also told Inside Line that Ferrari is testing hybrid prototypes.
That would suggest some form of a Formula One-derived KERS system also on the Enzo replacement, but Felisa says the hybrid system will be about improving fuel-economy rather than just performance. Of course, all automakers, and particularly luxury sports car makers like Ferrari, are under pressure to bring their emissions number down.
A carbon-fiber chassis would not be new to Ferrari, as the previous Enzo was made of that composite material too. But Ferrari says that they will stick with aluminum chassis' for production cars and leave the carbon for limited-run editions such as the Enzo.
The successor to the Ferrari Enzo is schedule to be launched in 2012.
